How to Make "Healthy" Hot Dogs and Caramel Corn

Is this even possible, you ask?

Yes it is! Especially when it's opening day at the ballpark and the alternatives around you are dismal.

Most ball park hot dogs will be full of hormones, antibiotics, and nitrates, while the popcorn may contain pesticides, too much sugar or high fructose corn syrup, and likely uses the chapter, pro-inflammatory vegetable oils.

Why not avoid that entire assault on your body and make you own without sacrificing one bit of taste?

That's what I did.

I used hormone and antibiotic free hot dogs that were from either free range turkey or grass-fed beef and served them on gluten-free buns with organic apple cider vinegar mustard,  raw sauerkraut and pickles to help you digest them!

Kids love them (the Little Leaguers were surrounding the table, waiting to grab them after the segment was over) and your adult friends should too!

Carmel corn is so easy to make as well.

It's as simple as four steps:

  • Pop organic popcorn in coconut oil
  • On the stove top, blend 3 tablespoons of coconut nectar with 3 tablespoons of coconut oil in a pan, bring it to a boil, simmer for two minutes
  • Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt
  • Pour over popcorn and serve!

Extra credit: On a baking sheet, spread the caramel corn flat and bake at 200 for 5-7 minutes (do not let burn) until it crisps up.
